This is quite old news.

IIRC a decrease in cycle casualties in London despite an increase in
numbers cycling.

Helmet propoganda works - people stop cycling - cyclists die.

seriously injured on Britain's roads fell by 4% in 2004 compared with
2003, and by nearly 40% from the 1994-98 baseline average. Slight
injuries have dropped by 2% since 2003 and 31% from the baseline.

There were 20 more cyclist deaths in 2004, representing a 18% rise on
2003, but with low figures this can be considered a statistical blip.

Standard of cycling has obviously deteriorated...... what is needed is,
cyclist education, plus law enforcement. That would have saved at least one
of them, possibly two, to my knowledge....
