I am converting to a triple front using a RSX triple crank, I currently have the 105 9-speed STI shifters which are compatable with double or triple (st-5500). My question is do I have to go with a 105, Ultegra, or Dura Ace front triple derailleur or will any triple Shimano MTB front derailleur work?

Use a 105 or ultegra triple FD.

A fancy FD doesn't provide much bling. Go 105 and buy something nice with the change.

Don´t be too suprised if you need a rear mech if you use a wide spread rear cassette - I´m told mountain bike mechs will work and may be cheaper for the quality , we roadies do seem to pay over the odds for our bits sometimes .

Thanks for all your help, I boiught a 105 triple FD today worked perfect, I have a Deore MTB rear derailleur with a 8sp cassette. I struggled with a Deore MTB front derailleur with no luck.
