  1. Anybody notice that the PD-7800 DuraAce pedals seem to have two different colors? Looking at the Shimano website, under pedals, the pedals are painted grey w/ white font. Under the '04 Dura-Ace section they are polished w/ black font. It also states that it is color matched to the '04 DA. What gives? The grey doesn't match the new DA. Kind of nit pickin but when you spend that kind of money you expect the performance and a little more attention to detail. Does anyone have any insight? Thanks.

    Scuba 😕

  2. I am pretty sure that I have only seen one type of 7800 pedal and it is the silver one with black letters. It seems to go pretty good with the other o4 Dura Ace stuff but I am not to good with what looks good if you know what I mean. Hope this helps.

    Scuba 😕

you sure all the pedals you're looking at are 7800? there was a PD-7750 (i.e. 9-spd DA) released which is mechanically identical to the 7800, but differently painted.

  4. here's both on one page: http://www.coloradocyclist.com/common/products/displayproductlist_v2.cfm?CI=1,225,491,625&StartRow=13&CGRFNBR=625&CRPCGNBR=625

i think they're the only thing in the DA groupo that didn't go up in price!

  5. Well, the reason I posted this was because I ordered the PD-7800 Pedals from LBS and received them this week. The Shimano part number states the "PD-7800 '04 Dura-Ace", but they are the painted w/ white font. LBS talked to their supplier and this is the correct pedal. Is Shimano trying to pull a fast one or are they behind on production as usual? It's really not that big of deal, but I just blew a wad on my new bike and wanted to put the icing on the cake with the matching pedals. Even the '04 Shimano parts manual shows the painted version!!!! Just looking for a answer. Thanks.

    Scuba Steve 🙂

  6. Anymore thoughts. I have been investigating this and have found no solution as of yet. I know Shimano is having production problems!!!

  7. I just got the 7800 pedals to replace my 7750's damaged in a accident

The new pdals came with a replacement plastic insert for the black step plate and the 7750's did not include this part. Also, the 7750's say SHIMANO on the step plate and the 7800's say Durace.

    Hope this helps.
