  1. Did the Glentress black run on Saturday. Nearly killed myself on several
    occasions.

Injured my ankle, and ribs, and right upper leg. Bashed my knee also. Fell
off multiple times. And hit a tree. Brilliant.!

Anyone else have any memories of the Glentress black run?

Were you wearing a helmet? If so how come you were still injured?

I done it for the second time last sunday. Came off just at the end of the
descent onto the fire road that takes you along to the start of deliverance.
Came round the last corner a bit too quick, and caught the line of rocks on
the outside off the bend. Bike went one way, i went the other, and bashed my
right knee. Still managed to take the short-cut past deliverance to the top
of EWOK village, and then back to the hub.
The knee has slowly been getting better all week (was up like a balloon on
monday), and is still slightly swollen in bits. I can cycle but it's sore if
I push too hard, also getting cramp in my thigh after about 5min cycling.
Still managed a play in the skills loop today, and a run around the blue
    freeride.

Hoping to get back on the red next weekend, but I think the usual gang are
planning on Innerleithen (should I book the ambulance now?)

Statistics now show that each helmet protects three people, two cyclists
    and one pedestrian.
Unfortunately none of these was Alan Paterson.

In fact, none of them was at risk as they were all in the pub at the
    time.
