Funny, I use QF but keep it configured to default top-posting. I
usually snip out extraneous stuff, so it's actually MORE of a PITA to
have to scroll up and then back down.
Each to his own, I guess. Having it set to automatically bottom-post not
only stops top-posting but also those people who like to bury comments deep
in the bowels of a long post but not snip the extraneous trailing material.

That's an interesting point. Emails traditionally are treated differently
to NNTP messages in that they tend to be contiguous entities rather than
point by point responses, so what would be top-posting on Usenet is
acceptable for email.
