Perfect end to the worst weekend ever.
Between a [censored] Saturday cleaning up a blown reaction (containing ~$600
worth of chemicals), a 45-minute each-way train ride to San Ho to run an
errand this morning, and just starting a presentation I have to give
tomorrow AM, I decided to take a ride with my bro out to a nice spot, Soquel
Demonstration Forest . . he'd never been, and I'm trying to gear him up for
Downieville. I thought it could be the bright spot in an otherwise miserable
pair of daze.
20 minutes into the drive, we get some fool rolling next to us honking and
pointing at the back of the car. I look back, and discover my bike is
nowhere in sight. We pull over to find that my bike has been dragging by its
front wheel, which was held by my buddy's pedal lodged between the spokes.
Sweet.
My seat was shaved from rubbing on the pavement:

My seat bag was toast:

The tire'd been worn off:

The rear was taco'd:

The bar end was shaved:

And I received a minor frame dent:

Man, I've got some work to put in . . . and a trip to the bike store for
parts. WTF.
I'm convinced there are too many fools masquerading as engineers in this
world.
