  1. After what many have said, i may just fix my bike and save for a realy good
    one.

I do a lot of on road cycling, would a road bike be any good on hard pack
    gravel? Would i have problems?

What are some good inexpencive bike brands??? I would only go new, not used.

    Any thoughts?

If you want a road-like bike to ride on hardpack gravel ... what about a
    cyclocross bike?

Mind you, I've never ridden one, so I'm talking out my @$$. but maybe it's an
    idea.

I'm working on resizing/choosing pictures and such right now. I'll have a
full race report when I can put it all together nicely.

The extremely short version is, I placed second ... out of two.

I'm not complaining. That was just the summary while I work on the real deal.
