  1. I don't know. Maybe the ostentatiousness of being really
public about a $1 cancer donation is putting me in a bad
mood, but I think the Team USA jerseys look like [censored]. A
plain white front with USA in block letters and a flag.
It looks like they used one of those generic club jersey
designs. You know, the ones with a big blank white area
that you can fill in with a sponsor logo.

I pretty much wrote Performance off after they spammed me
relentlessly after I bought something from them online,
in the process causing me to flush a lot of time down
the crapper following their directions to get them to
stop, none of which actually worked. But this seals it.
    Never again.

I'm embarrassed for my country. The jerseys suck. Say
what you will about French hygiene, I'll bet their jerseys
    are way cooler looking.

We all said the same thing in 2000.

  3. I think it is an excellent design and very smart looking. It is hot in
Athens and this will be a comfortable jersey. Has just enough on it to
display a lot of "CLASS" without being gaudy. My compliments to the
    choice.

I like them. The USA lettering, outlined block letters on white, is very
retro and looks like something you'd see on the side of an early NASA
rocket. It's a clean, crisp retro look. It's a nice break from the typical
euro jerseys that seem to try to outdo each other to see who can come up
with the most garish combination of overdone clashing colors (e.g.,
    Euskaltel-Euskadi).

I Like them too, not too busy. Other jerseys look like they are plugged into a socket. The simple look is nice for a change.

I saw them in person at the ADT center while doing some motorpacing for a
member of the track team. It actually looks pretty good in person when you
see the complete kit with top and bottom or as a skinsuit

I don't think a contrasting border is usually called "outlined" when the
fill colour is also different from the background. I mean, the letters
    are red.

Well somewhat similar but the Kanajun Maple Leaf emblem is a bit more
    prominent than the US Flag.

But that reminds me of a cartoon I saw 'bout 40 years ago when the Kolonial Kanuks
started seeking a National Identity, so they saddled up Roxinante and charged
off in hot pursuit of that Holy Grail 🙂 )

But if you don't have a Flag nobody knows who you are or what you stand for,
so the Kanuks decided they were gonna get them selves a Flag to rally
round if they wanted to be an Independent Country so there were all kindsa
competitions to come up with a Flag to replace the old Union Standard.

The best one I saw at the time was a Cow superimposed on a Green Field with
    lines delineating the Provincial Boundaries.

And our Heraldic Bovine was Feeding in British Columbia, being Milked in
Ontario and guess what it was doing on Kbek and the Maritimes 🙂 🙂

  11. I must say the new Canadian national team kit is also pretty lame, versus
    the previous design.

I realize this isn't practical, due to costs and riders' preferences for
a specific helmet model and fitting, but it would be nice if they could
    all have matching helmets.

I wonder who she rides for during the season:

No sir. Davey never varies his posting routine.

Read the headerz. Davey is very easy to ID

Check the Posting Host and you'll see that it always resolves to Davey's
    X-X-From header addy......

He don't even use a phoney email addy either. (But he never checks the mail box)

  18. Bob,

Have the jersey's ever been good? Every year they try some [censored] new
idea. Why not let a real designer try his/her hand. I think the US
flag looks kinda cool but we seem to shy away from the flag these
days. Why? Put a USA jersey on that looks like a flag (I recall the
women's '96 gymnastics team having cool leo's) and you won't need to
    write USA on it.

I dunno, my model for simple beauty is the solid blue Italian

More and more federations seem to be supplying nat'l team shorts with a
location for the pro's team sponsor's logos. I would say it is no longer
typical to wear team shorts but the team's sponsors are still typically
represented on a section of the shorts.
