SPD shoes

If you can't find a pair for sale, have you actually tried them on? I really wouldn't buy shoes
online or mail order unless you know they fit, and it isn't just shoe size. I can't use Shimano
shoes, for example, as my feet are far too wide to get a decent fit.

Wide feet, the same for me, but I do use Shimano Sandals. What do you use?

Hi Peter

My feel are also quite wide so I bought a pair of MO36 (I think) but one size too large - size 11
rather than size 10.

For regular around town use the shoes are fine but I'd prefer a slightly tighter pair of size 10s
for using on my road bike as I do believe that the shoes have most probably stretched a little since
I bought them.

However, overall I have no real complaint with my slightly too large Shimano shoes.

There is, of course, one seldomly understood advantage regarding overlarge footwear: When one rides
into a ford (the non-cager type) one can easily paddle - as opposed to pedal - to safety.

Pete Asian shoes and 'fashion' shoes from anywhere are often far too narrow for my feet, too (I ran
around in bare feet for the first seven years of my life and even today spend summer in bare feet or
light joggers). So can you recommend
* SPD shoes
* with wide fittings (say >F)
* without protruding attachments, that is, suitable for comfortable walking around?

SD60s most of the time: doesn't seem to be a problem with the sandals. For shoes I've got a pair of
Specialised Rockhoppers. I also seem to fit Cannondale stuff okay. Tried on several pairs of Shimano
shoes/boots, no use at all :-( (great shame, they look rather good value).

Specialized Rockhoppers work for me, though I've no idea of an actual width fitting. Cannondale seem
reasonably wide too. You'll have to try some to see if they're any use to you...
