Spotted by one of my coleagues in Etal, Northumbria. Possibly during the
Eco trip thing, forgot to ask her what date it was taken.

Looks like a Tadpole trike towing a Hase Kettweisel with the front wheel
taken off (I think that's what's stowed behind the back seat). Ketts
are designed to hitch one another if you remove the front wheel, so you
can have very long trains. Hase have got in the record books for
longest cycle by having a Kettweisel owners meet at the factory and
joining everyone up, 62 in all. See

Ben has one of those too... More expensive than a KMX X will be, but
you can't turn those into instant tandems/triples/quads etc.

Bit of a drag, though individual Ketts are quite light and easy to pick up.

Amusingly, that Post Office (or the cafe next to it) was the first
control on the Audax that Simon and I rode. The vehicle in question
wasn't on the ride though (Or if it was, it was doing the longer
route!). I think Peter's got it right. The rear end definately has a
Kettweisel look about it.

It wasn't on the Eco Trip - there weren't any tandems taking part.
I'm also tolerably sure we didn't go through a place called Etal, but
being geographically challenged, I could easily be wrong about that :-)

That Post Office also has that essential for any decent cycling trip, a
tea-room. A pretty good one at that. My wife and I used to take my grandma
there as she loved it. There's also the Heatherslaw Mill just along the
road, which is worth a visit as it makes lots of lovely unhealthy cakes as
well as fantastic bread.

That was the one! Provided a very welcome bacon roll. Very pretty part
of the country and one I may have to visit again sometime.
