  1. Hi

I and teammate are entering Taupo Cycle challenge for the first time (MTBikers turned to road). We are stuck on who rides which legs. Short of drawing straws, can anyone provide either a full profile, or at least anecdotal evidence of the features/difficulty of each of the four legs?

    thanks

  2. The first half of the course is 'undulating' there are a few climbs in it but nothing too hard.

The 2nd half is basically flat with a couple of larger climbs. If you can find yourself a bunch to cruise in in this last part you'll be sorted.

Here is the course profile scanned from the entry form:

If you are riding half each, the first half is probably the hardest as it is rolling hills all the way. The second half has two large hills, and 40k of flat.
