  1. Raced for the first time in more than a month (excuses on the back of a postcard). Marconi was the host - the course consists of about 5km up-and-back on Old Wallgrove Rd. There are a couple of lumps, but you couldn't call them hills. There is a bumpy section that makes you wish you had a suspension seat post...

We had about 12 riders in C-grade for eight laps. Everything stayed together until about three laps to go, when I was able to get away with two others. We worked pretty well together and were able to stay away to the end. For once I had enough gas to (drum roll please) win the sprint (!)

I guess it's time to move up and get thrashed in B-grade 🙂

    Woo hoo!
    Ritch

PS. The home-built wheels had their biggest test and actually survived - Woo hoo!

Nice one man! One of my goals this season is to make it into B grade..

It must have been your wheels.. custom built for speed.. 🙂

Congrats, Ritch. Well done. My only experience with B graders (and A
graders) is when they come past at a million miles an hour while
you're racing, yelling "Stay left". I did have a nice A grader notice
I'd dropped out of the C-grade pack once around the back of Heffron
(away from the Commisaire), who slowed up out of the back of his pack
and gave me a nice tow back onto the C-grade bunch, before vanishing
into the distance 🙂 Didn't work, I promptly went off the back again
    at the next surge.

Very cool. For ya next trick, framebuilding's a hoot...

    Regards,

Suzy (Very pleased with herself after doing Bobbin Head yesterday on
    her fixed gear - 47/17)
