going into my LBS but thought someone here might know anyway?
Possibly not my place to say this, but it sounds like you're describing a
lightweight touring bike. Maybe something else to think about.
Chris
Indeed. Its light, its advertised as touring use in their brochure, (and I
wouldnt be carrying heavy loads anyway), plus I like the look of it (dont
want to spend £700+ on something that looks [censored]) and its got good reviews
and reasonable spec for the price. Also comes with the bar top auxillary
brakes which otherwise I'd have to get added if I went for a drop bar bike
(just too wedded to my 'suicide bars :-).
Have considered alternatives such as Thorn Brevit, Paul Hewit cheviot (too
far away from me unfortunately :-(, Dawes Audax, ridgeback horizon (very
light bike). Had a look at the Brevit last week, also the Ravens but they
look a bit 'clunky' for my tastes and cost double. SJS is a great shop to
look in, too much choice if anything, I was an inch away from buying a bike
but in the end couldnt make my mind up, came away with 4 possibles.
