value for $, CF vs. alum/alloy seatposts

the other thing i desire is a post with a GOOD easy-to-adjust head. i wouldnt be changing it hardy ever after finally getting the right setup, but ease of adjust during the process (im also getting a new saddle, thus the extensive setup) will be a BIG plus. ive had other posts that were a royal pain to adjust.

so, does the CF post provide any big advantage in your opinion? 😕
or is it mostly marketing to the disposeable income demographic?

If you have the disposable dinero,buy the CF for the bling,wow factor and possible poseur points. My favorite post is light aluminum with a 2 bolt adjustment like the Thompson. You can probalby find others with a simialr adjustment setup for less $$.

boudreaux, i had one thompson elite, its great, but wrong color.
and you are (as you sometimes are) right, its a good adjuster.

in your opinion,

does CF provide a "better" ride? is CF more subject to failure?
