Road Bike

I know the feeling. Im a broke college student and looking into road bikes myself. I have been to almost every bike shop around me and talked to different people. The going price for an entry level bike is about $600. I have looked at Giant, Trek, Felt, Bianchi, etc. They all have bikes between $550 and $650. I dont know about you but thats a lot of money for me. Most of these shops do have financing plans from 90 days "same as cash" and 6 months no interest. Basically the same thing just different time limit. So you might check that out. Another thing I guess you can do is convert your MTB to more of a Hybrid bike. Dont quote me on this but I think you can convert your tires and some other parts to more Road style parts which I guess would be cheaper. Some others probably have more info on this though. Have you considered putting a set of slicks on it? That'd be the cheapest thing to make it ride nicer on roads.
