Last night on a ride,we were remarking on those barfy clothes Phil, Paul and Stupid Trautwig were wearing. We all agreed, those shirts were just hideous, awful colors and didn't even fit properly! Maybe they look worse on tv.
I just got the tapes of the Giro and it was the same thing. I felt sorry for Phil, Paul and Bob wearing these horrible, ill-fitting shirts from LL Bean, ugly design, and safari pockets. I didn't mind the fleece vests they wore in other broadcasts, those were actually okay. They really have to find some better sponsors!Remind me never to order clothes from LL Bean if that's what they look like on human beings.
All that shouting about Floyd being gone and it turns out that he has been offered a spot on next year's team if he wants it.
Talk about premature ejaculation - it must have come from Henry.
Sure he's offered it, but I think he's been offered a fat increase over what Tailwind is offering him, to be his own leader elsewhere. He's a pretty quiet guy on camera, but you never know what he's thinking. His time as Lance's buddy has turned him into a very strong and professional guy.
I think that a few of the riders have contracts that will extend to next year, but when you look at the wealth of talent on Postal, it's gonna be hard to keep em all.

But if Lance isn't going to be Discovery's team leader for the TdF next year, who is? I suspect Floyd might covet that honor.

We loved the walk through the orchard on rest day 1. Practically holding hands, it looked like a pilot for "Queer Eye For the Commentator Guys"

Hahahaha, I agree--those shirts were always too big--what's up with the double breast pockets--they all looked like they were ready to go on a safari, kangaroo hunting or something.

And who wears safari pockets anyways- maybe in the 70s!
I remember as a teenager, I was very flatchested and I read in one of those teen magazines, Seventeen I think: "If you have a small chest, wear safari pockets! Makes you look bigger." IT worked! ANd I had all these blouses with safari pockets. But I guarantee you they were in nicer colors and fit better than those hideous shirts on OLN!

Yeah, and when all your friends are wearing similarly hideous clothes, and cringe at what you're wearing ("where _did_ you get those retro fashions, dear?"😉 you'll fall right into lockstep behind all the conformist induhviduals.
I never know how to take a compliment on what I'm wearing, as I'm a guy, I usually just reply, "uh, well, it was clean."
All that shouting about Floyd being gone and it turns out that he has been offered a spot on next year's team if he wants it.

Just because the team has offered it, doesn't mean he'll accept it. He can join the ranks of all the others who were "almost as strong as Lance, but who crumble as leader of their own team" if he so chooses.

I'll certainly agree here. Stores Like LL Bean, and Eddie Bauer were very good stores years ago (So was Abercombie+Fitch) I think now days, you'd be better off buying from Wal-Mart. LL Bean and Bauer now sell overpriced [censored], which mostly is made in sweat shops in third world countries. Bottom line is I guess, is to maximize profit, turn profits for shareholders any way they can. Mark

Either way, they could get shirts from the Gap that look ten times better. INstead they looked like my brother in law, who I often hold up as one of the worst dressed men I know. His entire wardrobe is sloppy, ugly baggy plaid shirts, sloppy jeans and no-name brand sneakers. ANd not even cool jeans or plaid shirts or sneakers. He looks 25 years older than he is. And his outerwear consists of bomber jackets with the elastic waist, like the kind middle aged men wear. Going out to a restaurant with him was embarrassing. He looked like a homeless man. However, even he wouldn't wear those LL Bean shirts, mainly because he never buys anything and wouldn't spend the money.
