One is a mountain bike, the other I paid £19.99 to upgrade to a *full
suspension* mountain bike.

The first I intend to keep as a spare for when something goes wrong
with my bike and I have no time to fix (a rare event). The full
suspension model I'm not sure about. I may try to part exchange both
with my LBS for a decent touring bike to keep as a spare and for
touring - sadly not in time for my Tour de Scotland.

There was nothing wrong with the pack of Ariel that came free with the
washer dryer!

The free installation left a lot to be desired, however...

The washer/dryer installer was not able to wire the machine into a
faceplate, and plumbed the drain incorrectly. The fridge/freezer
installer could plug the machine in but was unable to plumb the
*instant chilled water* pipe into the water system.

It took me two minutes to wire the washer/dryer to the face plate and
a further 90 minutes to solve the drain problem.

It cost £3.99 from a hardware shop for a faucet, compression join and
a bit of pipe. Plumbing the F/F to the mains water took me about 10
minutes.

Hoover are refunding me with £30 for my trouble - £9.97 less than the
cost of the mountain bike upgrade and postage and packing for both
bikes.

Same here, though it might not have been a hoover but another brand <heads
into kitchen> No, it was a hoover. We have just about got to the end of the
free washing powder. They were a bit incompetent in sorting that out.

Mmm.. Going to the kitchen was a bad idea as my experimental cakes had just
cooled down sufficiently for testing (sponge cakes made with fructose
instead of sucrose, and with a spoonful of raspberries and strawberries
freshly gleaned from the garden without extra protein in the middle. Yummy)

Last year I attempted Land's End to John O'Groats. I dropped out at
Lockerbie due to illness. This year I plan to cycle Keswick to John
O'Groats.

I've two days' hillwalking in the Lakes with my club next weekend, so
I'm catching the train to Oxenholme on Friday and cycling to Stair
with all my hillwalking gear to boot.

My planned route is Keswick - Carlisle - Jedburgh - Edinburgh - Creiff
- Aberfeldy - Newtonmore - Inverness - Dornoch - Helmsdale - Wick -
John O'Groats. Then to Thurso and train to Inverness and then
Carlisle where I'll recuperate before travelling to Ludlow and meeting
up with my hillwalking club and being reunited with my walking boots
which are being cared for by a friend.

I travel as sell-sufficient as I can, camping on organised sites or
discretely in fields. I cook my own breakfast but usually eat lunch
in a pub. I might dine out or feast on pasta in my tent.

I hope to lose a pound or twenty over the 16 days I'm away from home.

would presume they are sterlinghouse type bikes or worse (if
possible). Also aren't Hoover washing machines very unreliable
generally? I think their fridge/freezers are ok though.

new saddle :~(

Still the saddle's not made of cheese. More than can probably said for your
