The real father is hide, and he does not believe in religion (to use your
terms).
According to his book, he did not know his father. His father left them
when Lance was very young. He has very little in organized religion.
Probably has something to do with his stepfather being a Christian
fundamentalist who beat him often when he was young.
I don't know if the book is available in French but if it is, I recommend
it--it offers good insight and inspiration. Your English seems very good,
perhaps you could suffer through it in English.
Cheers!

I bought his first book in paperback last year, I really liked him but as
Lance wrote it 2 or 3 years ago I was wondering if he found his father
after that time.

accident when Lance was a teen-ager competing in a triathlon. The
Gundersons

not make any attempt to contact Armstrong. He read a book in which
Armstrong

``That was on Page 20,'' Gunderson said. ``I never read Page 21."
What a loser...It is still all about him. No interest in a book he already
bought just because it revealed how Lance feels to be left behind.

I can't remember exact details but I think it was a gift from a nurse or a
patient he met during his chemo. It's a remembrance of them. He talked
about it in his first book...

Lance knows who his real father is and couldn't care less. Is there any
reason he should after never seeing him until he became a millionaire?
Lance claims to not be religious but I believe that he wears a cross around
his neck. He says it's just a token but I think that he is looking to
believe even if he doesn't right now. As he grows older and realizes all of
the things that happened in the most perfect order for him to become who he
was - for him to accomplish what he has - for him to demonstrate to others
the strength of human spirit I suspect he might just realize that there was
another hand behind it.

No, nothing will likely change his mind about that- even nearly dying! The
cross is apparently a gift from someone who died of cancer and he wears it
for sentimenal reasons. One thing I have to say I like about Lance is that
he won't be converted no matter what- kind of like me. You can talk miracles
and jesus all you want but he simply dismisses it.

I think it is an outline of the state of Texas and not a cross

Look Jim, when this sperm doner went away and only decided to call again
when Lance was famous that pretty much does it for him. He can't say
anything that has any meaning to me.

I'm not saying Lance owes him a thing, and maybe the guy is gold-digging
(oops, wrong thread). It could be the guy has feelings, and regrets.
That's all.

I'll bet Tom's father had feelings and regrets.

The story as I've heard it is that it's a gift/memento from a cancer
sufferer, who died shortly after Lance recovered from his.
Lance has been clear about his agnosticism.
