hey i plan on buy my first frame and would like know how much work and how difficult it is to build a bike. can't say i've ever torn down a mountain bike before but just wonder about any details that get over looked easily. any tips about the head set and crank are all im really worried about thanks.
oops this prolly should be in the tech corner. sorry
I built my new bike & I have very little knowledge on how to set it up, it's best to take it to a shop to put the headset in as if you mess it up you ruin your frame. As for the crank its easy to put in but again you need a specialist tool so you have to decide whether to pay for the tool or again just get the shop to put it in for you. I was lucky as I have a friend with all the tools we needed & he set everything up for me, you can either read up on how to set everything up (parktools.com has good instructions) or just bolt everything together & then take it to your LBS & let them finish it off for you.
