Well, which is it, BRAVO or OLN?

  3. I couldn't agree more! It's been a fun July.

I know you don't care, but in case anyone else is interested:

Most of us nay sayers say "nay".

I agree! OLN has spoiled me with their multiple daily repeats; I can always
fit the day's stage into my schedule. Critics can complain about certain
aspects of the production or the announcing personalities, but I don't
care. All I know is: here in the U.S. coverage of cycling could be much,
much worse or even nonexistent. Thank you OLN!

You don't have to go back to far to remember it being much worse. Do the names
    Thompkins/Karsten ring a bell?

I remember being on Prodigy in 91 and I would relay daily standings that were
posted on r.b.r and I'd get several thank you posts a day! That's how starved
we were for info. There was a guy who posted here (and maybe some of the old
timers will remember his name) who use to post minute by minute accounts similar
to what you get now on CN. So I'm damn thankful as well. Having to sit through
the same commercials over and over again is a small price to pay (although I
usually DVRd the Road Tour version and played it back without commercials).

Thanks to CyclingNews.com, too, whose server (the trusty ol' Tandy 1200)
will be able to take a well derved break...

    ....until the Vuelta :-)

  11. Absolutely...great coverage (I even watched some of the afternoon and
evening coverage toward the end, after the "Roadside Tour" disappeared).

Thanks for all the hard work and I'll support the sponsors as budget allows!

Cheers to the team for a job very well done, OLN!

    TV

    Eurosport -
Smith was tolerable (not that easy holding a 6-hour broadcast with
    large stretches of nothing happening).
Kelly's accent was a PITA after a while.
Christie comes off as pretty intelligent.

    Picture quality was superb.

Live coverage of the classics next spring. Cover it so that cycling fans
will love it and the rest will follow. What else do you have to show at 5
a.m. est on a Sunday or Wednesday morning?

wah wah! boo hoo! you nay sayers will never be friggin satisfied! the
kind of coverage you inconsiderate idiots want can only get WHEN
YOU'RE ACTUALLY IN FRANCE! OLN has done 10 times better than ESPN's
"I like to tease you" with only 1 hour of highlights coverage.

OLN has been showing "all the boring stuff" that you so-called cyclist
fans call it. that "boring" stuff is what us fans have been missing
for years. you get to see the tactics the teams try to execute,
something we've never really seen on ESPN. and ABC's 1 hour sat
coverage is about as good as their america's funniest home video
    program (complete [censored]!).

i ain't kissing OLN's [censored] but they took a chance on this type of
coverage and finally gave what true cycling fans wanted to see,
EVERYTHING! you nay sayers should just go back to roof aerial
antennas, do others a favor and cancel your cable or dss satellite
subscription, you're a better asset to UHF informercial programming.

    MERCI, OLN!

It's been a great July, congrats to Lance and OLN.

Now it's time to clean my bike chain, lube it and ride.

    You should tell them here;

I hope they show the Vuelta this year.

I can't find anything on their website that says that they are going to.

    A very good idea indeed.

I wrote them mid-tour and commented on the infantile Cutters coverage
and the very next day the Cutters were gone!

I'm sure it was me! ;-)

    Thanks OLN! Keep it up.

OLN didn't say anything about the Vuelta on their website *last* summer,
either - but they covered it in full in September. Maybe last-minute
    negotiations for the broadcast rights?

Won't hurt to tell them you liked the Tour and hope to see the Vuelta.

Yep, bravo OLN and Merci ! The best bet OLN and TIVO, to skip through
    commercials and Al T.
