I'm amazed no-one came off their bike - it's crazy the way they let people
all over the course like that. Couldn't they have put barriers all the way
    up the climb?

That pales into insignificance when compared to the track invasions of the
Le Mans 24 hour motorcycle race where the crown pour onto the track in the
final couple of minutes when there's motor cycles circuiting and
stratospheric speeds. I don't know if this still goes on - one of the
avoidance strategies in the past was to sneakily start the race five minutes
early but the ruse was rumbled.

The insanity then contiues with the spectators taking their own motorcycles
onto the circuit...it wouldn't be so bad if they all went round in the same
    direction.....

The Etape pales into insignifacance compared with the 'roll your own' Le
    Mans laps.

  2. Did I see what I thought I saw? "EPO Lance" painted on the Alp d'Huez
    road?

(Mind you I'm sure I also saw "[censored] Lance"😉

I remember when the internet was only in black & white.
It only had a few pages but at least they all worked.

I saw those, too. There was also one for Robert Millar!

Commentator said there was one for Duffield.
    Anyone else hear that?

  5. I saw a couple which read "rip their balls off, Lance" and "crush their
balls", which were presumably attempts at sick humour. There was a also a
"[censored] Lance" but the OLN camera panned away just in time to dodge the K
    being visible.

  6. Taywood? You don't by any chance work for Taylor Woodrow do you? Just
curious as I have dealings with them!

French tv camera. All stations world-wide get the same feed from France.

  8. I saw one that said "Rip their balls of Lance"

    Rgds, Bob

I think they chose the correct 'off', though...

    ....sorry.

de France we're talking about - it would be a drop in the organisational
    ocean.

Nope, its just a made up name.

OT. That firm built a lot of houses in the North of England in
the 50's building boom when building materials were in short supply.
Their gimmick was to top the cavity wall with concrete blocks
with a gutter on the outside. The roof timbers rested on this.

Being concrete there was no need for lintels.
But when double glazing came in the fitters took out the solid wooden
load bearing window frames and put in upvc frames usually with a gap
at the top covered by a long pvc strip.
The result is a lot of houses with sagged gutters over bowing windows
into which rain water pools, the gutter lining deteriorates, the gutter
joints split and rain water runs down into the cavity walls or even
waterfalls down the inside of the bedroom windows.
My friend who owns one also had dealings with that firm!

  14. oopps. I know I meant to press it twice, honest!
