  3. I have pretty much done it all. I started out riding Motorcycles. I
was sponsored for may years. During that time I picked up a
skateboard(mid 70's). Back when we had plexi-glass boards, urethane was
the newest thing in wheels, and some of us even had sealed bearings.😄
I was decent, best in my neighborhood, but nothing like the kids today.
Then after my last year racing motorcycles(1980) after destroying my
knee, my doctor said it would be okay to ride a bike for rehab. Little
did he know what he was approving. I had ramps in my cul-de-sac that I
would jump after reaching maximum velocity from a hill in front of
house. It was a long and fast hill. After destroying a few cheap
bikes, I started buying stuff at my local LBS. I started BMX on a brand
new Haro designed Chromoly Torker(the one with double tubes). I had
heard of a girl that lived a few miles away that was a factory sponsored
rider. Her parents had turned 3-4 acres of their yard into a BMX track.
After a few months of riding I decided to enter a race at a local
track. Son after I was asked to ride for the team of the local LBS I
had bought my Torker. It goes w/o saying my orthopedic surgeon was a
little dismayed.😄 It was at this LBS that I sat on my first unicycle.
I remember that thing popped out from under me and went flying into a
row of bikes. I did my best to play it off, but I remember thinking
there is no way it's that hard to ride! I tried again at another shop
about 5 years ago at another LBS. I was met with the same realization.
I couldn't ride a unicycle, and I sure as heck can't just hop on and
ride away. Also just about took out another row of brand new $1,000
bikes.:o Then while looking at juggling clubs on dube I saw that dang
unicycle again. This time I would not meet with defeat. I went to ebay
and started looking around. Low and behold there it was... The
unicycle I was meant to buy. A *TORKER*. It was meant to be, I had
come full circle and back to my childhood BMX roots.

  6. That's a really cool story, Bugman. Do you still do any of that stuff?

I thought I voted "other," but I must have accidentally clicked
something else. I own a skateboard, and a BMX bike, but never got any
good at either of them. Likewise, I own a razor scooter, but never did
    anything useful with that, either.

My extreme "sport" background came from my friend Owen. We got bored one
day, and amused ourselves by finding these rusty, sharp pieces of metal
and chucking them at each other. It may not have required the skill of
skateboarding or BMX'ing, but it was twice as dangerous. We dubbed the
game, "I can feel the tetanus spreading!"

You sir... are an idiot 🙄 A pretty funny story but um... I
don't think I would ever play that. I did a tiny bit of skating but I
sucked at that so I voted none.

  11. for some reason, I can't vote,
my background includes skating, long boarding, snow boarding, trials
    biking, xc running, and drinking.

unicycling is better than almost everything on that list.

  13. Raced motocross, enduroes and hare scrambles (motorcycles), then broke
my neck for the second time in 1990 and started racing mountain bikes to
get my "dirt fix". Decided to give MUni a try about 1 1/2 years ago,
then bought a Coker along with about 2 or 3 other uni's in between😄

  18. i started out downhill mountain biking. its kinda funny because when i
got my unicycle for christmas (thought a unicycle would be giggles) i
learned how to ride it and then i thought it would be funny to go down
one of the main downhill routes on it. at this time i didnt even know
that muni existed so i though this would be funny (not serious, joking,
what not) and so i did it and then i finally found out that people
actually ride trails on their unicycle, and they are not doing it for
giggles, but that they are serious about it. and thats how i started
    muni.
