  1. Hi there, I noticed that ricstern was online and thought I'd pop in with this question:

If you want to ride professionally whats the best course of action and as I'm from Scotland where the longest road races are max 80 miles how many miles should you be putting in approximately, and how many days of "hard" runs?

I've had some good results in my first year but not really done more than 120m per week. What would you recommend?

    You want to turn pro??

Cross the channel and race in Belgium or France....make sure you win a lot of races and learn to speak French [this shows you are keen to fit in]. If you ever race a time trial, it helps to win by minutes so any directeurs looking for new talent will notice your massive engine.

    Good luck.

i feel that the a good answer to this query is probably not within the scope of the forum -- as it'll be dependent upon the person concerned.

in general though: get exceedingly fit (very high VO2max, LT), train well but make it fun, go to France, Belgium, Italy, etc, learn a new language, or meet the qualifying criteria for the WCPP in the UK.

don't hesitate to contact me at [email hidden] for a more detailed response,
