I really missed seeing everyone this year.

Was there any talk about where it might be next year ?
I know Jan Layne wanted to host it this year in Ohio.

Marcus Sternberg sent me a e-mail saying it was a great meet a few days
ago.

Having it close to UNICON, Deciding where to have it so late, and SLC
being expensive to fly into probably hurt attendance. I would like to
have gone, but vacation time with my family is so valuable I couldn't
leave them. My wife is pregnant, so no uni for her and flying is out of
the question since she is already about to throw up 12 hours a day.:eek:

I hope everyone had a great time, I was really looking forward to
winning some of those Medals myself. I figured with light attendance I
would have a better chance.😄 Maybe next year.

I'd just like to chime in and say what a great time my family and I
had.

The light attendance had some advantages. Like:

* My kids medaled in every event they entered. Sara took gold in all
her events (she was the only one in her category).

* The events went fairly quickly.

* Presenting awards did not take too long. (Thanks to all the hard work
of those who coordinated all that)

* We were able to get to meet many of the attendees.

My only regret was that I didn't get to see any of the artistic
competition. I was too busy enjoying the beautiful Utah mountains with
the rest of the folks that went on the daily muni rides. Thanks to Rolf
Thompson for opening my eyes to some really great trails.

Thanks to everyone who was able to come visit Utah! Special thanks to
all those who worked so hard to make the whole thing happen. It was
really amazing to me to have NAUCC come to Utah.

Hopefully we'll see all of you at the convention next year. I hear that
it will be in Bowling Green, OH.

Now get those photos uploaded so I can relive the experience!

I just walked in the door ten minutes ago, after driving all night. I
havent even taken a shower yet.

I'd like to take this time to thank everyone involved, especially the
volenteers that have no obligation. Ok, just everyone who helped.

I had a great time, even though I only competed in one individual event.
It was awesome. Ok, Im tired.

Megan and I were the only ones attending from our family. As a team we had 21
riders, adding the non competitors we had a total of 41 people.
Bowling Green was purposed for the next NAUCC but it hasn't been finalized
yet.

Not sure about the attendance. It was very low, almost 100 less people then
other years. Other UNICON years NAUCC has had increased attendance, using it
as a practice for UNICON.
Forgot to mention Unicycling Society of America(USA) news, Tom Daniels was
re-elected as President, Alan Tepper as newly pointed Vice President, Karen
Rabideau as Treasurer, Scott Arnold as Secretary(although he would like to
resign, think about taking his position next year) and I am the new merchandise
manager.
Wendy Grzych has taken the job as club affiliater. Her job is to get teams and
clubs affiliated with the USA. If we can get more teams, clubs and groups aware
of NAUCC maybe we can get more people to come.

racing champion.

And so another successful NAUCC enters the history books.

As usual, I had an excellent time. I wanted to mention and to thank lots
of people by name, but I decided I better not, in case I would forget
someone.

Here are some of my highlights:

One of the best things is getting that first glimpse of friends I
haven't seen for a year. And I enjoyed going out to dinner with the
group that first evening.

Salt Lake City was really interesting. I got downtown a couple of times
and had a great time seeing some of the city. We found out that it was
possible to sit in on a practice session of the ultra famous Mormon
Tabernacle Choir for no cost, so a friend and I did that. It was a
terrific experience.

I drove to Utah, so I took 6 unicycles with me. It's nice to be able to
coordinate the unicycle to the activity each day.

I had several willing helpers with games. The squirt gun game and the
bouncy ball game are still my favorites.

I stood around at the Trials course to get some idea of how it's done. I
watched as people hopped, dropped, and rolled all over those obstacles.
Very cool. Amazing talent there.

I was able to certify some new skill testers, and I was pleased to
explain the new skills system to anyone who was interested. Got some
great suggestions, too.

Being at an Olympic venue for the 10k was great. I'm pathetic on hills,
and the course had lots, so it was grueling for me. Thankfully, I had
my own personal escort through much of the course. You see, there was a
bicycle escort for the first rider and for the last rider. (Guess which
one I was. . . )

The Homestead Hotel was excellent.

The group photo was fun, though we were missing a few people. Maybe
we'll get everyone in the picture next year.

I was pleased to win 3 great items on the raffle.

Of the few lowlights, I did manage to get a heck of a sunburn at the
track, which is still painful.

And, as much as I enjoyed seeing and talking with so many people, I
found there were several who didn't make it to the event this year. We
missed you. Next year, please plan to attend, probably in Ohio.

If all goes well, we'll be working on ways to revamp the convention to
include more workshops and discussions and to adjust some of the events.
If you have comments or suggestions, speak up. We need everyone's
support to make these conventions successful and fun.

That's all I can think of at the moment, except to add my thanks to
everyone who really did put in an awful lot of time and effort to make
this event happen. It was a terrific experience.

Hope to see everyone again next July!

I have finally been able to absorb all that occurred at the NAUCC 2004.

Thanks to Carol Bricker for putting together a wonderful convention and
competition. Carol is such a gracious and gentle soul who showed great
concern for all and did a fantastic job in meeting our needs.

As always, I am extremely proud of the Panther Pride Unicycle Team
riders. They gave their all, competed with dignity, and remained
gracious and humble.

For me, the best part of this event was the people. After being
bombarded by the media with negative news all year, my faith in humanity
was once again lifted. I love the unicycling community and the
willingness of all to assist each other with true caring.

Thank you to all who attended, for making this event a heart-warming
memory.
