That is exactly what I was thinking. The more bicycles the better. I would
like this place to look like China used to as far as bicycles go. Bring it
on. Although, I don't think the general American public will trade in their
H2's, Escalades, Excursions, Expeditions, F350's, Tahoes, Suburbans, Jimmys,
H1's, Envoys, Bravadas, Silverados, Powerwagons, Rams, Durangos, Explores,
Navigators, Yukons and anything else with a confederate flag and a NASCAR
bumper sticker on it. Hmmm, I just described 80% of the population in the

Two coworkers stopped me at work today and told me how they had
dragged their old bikes out, tuned them up, and started riding again
since the Tour started. I hope they both go out and buy 5200s.

I saw the same thing on Saturday, minus the socks but add the camelback and
aero bars pointing also most vertical. My first thought was that it was
silly but then I realized that anything to get more people on two wheels was

Curt in case you missed it. Almost all of us who are here year 'round have
decided to put political discussion (which equals flame wars here) aside while
the Tour is happening. I know that a LOT of us are biting our tongues and
mailing. Once in a great while we do try to stay on topic.
I'm willing to bet that within days of the end of the Tour we'll have our one
or two political threads going again with a vengeance.

I'm in the market for a new DeRosa King right now. I'll trade my C-50
for one my size. I became interested in the King when I found out that only
200 Kings will be sold in the USA this year.

At this stage I wouldn't trade my Dream+ for anything I don't already
know. It's a peach for climbs, descents and hammering in the flats
(just not so much fun with 4 flats in the same day...)

I'd heard the original Treks were much the same dimensions as LeMonds,

Some dude showed up to race marshall at the last SFGP (T-Mobile
international for you pedants) same way, except the socks, which were
probably whatever the team wore last year.

To my shame I wear a pair of former team shoes (though I'm stinkin em up
and getting em dirty rather than putting them in some display case
except for those special rides) and a former team bike (which I've only
replaced tires and brake pads on but will probably drag along as a
beater for vacations, it's already well beaten.)
