    Is a 54 mm flange-to-flange axle well suited for a 26" (just for paved
    ground, not muni)?

  2. I don't know about well suited, but it should work. That flange spacing
    is pretty normal for 26" mountain bikes. Use a good rim and make the
    spokes tight.
