So Gibby Fatton (who is now over 40) has decided that he'd like to supplement his income by winning all the local Cat III/IV crits. I'm not sure how I feel about this. He's recruited several other fat washed-up trackie henchmen (who never raced much on the road but were 1s and 2s on the track) to assist in his efforts for Yocco's money. On one hand, I think its good way to make intermediate-level riders understand that if they'd like to win, they and their team are going to have to do what it takes to neutralize the best sprinter in the race. On the other hand, it seems a bit beyond the pale that the former world kerin champion and his dipshit trackie cronies should be permitted to compete with hapless Cat IVs.
Another point for allowing him to race is the humor value in watching him ride his fat ass around in the back of the field, doing absolutely nothing until the last lap, and then using his significant girth to push his way to the front of the field for the sprint.

A number of years ago he severaly hooked a guy I know in a crit, who started yelling at him. Hatton said "Do you know who I am?" and my friend yelled "It doesn't matter who you are -- you can't do that." This was, I believe, in a cat 3 race.
