Only really heard about him today 'cuz his captain went crunch.
He's been on the radar in Italian cycling for a year or two. I think Tosi mentioned him here in the past (if you got past the spittle-flecked raving about racial purity).
First win my ass. The guy, albeit only 22 yo, already won a few dozens races, including the GC of a 2.HC race, '03 Tirreno-Adriatico.

For a few years he was clearly going to be a top guy. I think he won the junior or espoir worlds, the Tour of Cuba and either the GP Etruschi (sp) or Trofeo Laguillega (sp also) in the last few years. Plus there was talk inside his team of riding for him in the sprint at Milan-San Remo if Pettachi lost contact wtih the front of the race. And I think he got top ten at Het Volk two or three years ago.

True! The guy has class. Reminds me of the young VDB. Pozzato never raced in the Espoirs category. From the Juniors straight to the pros. Amazing.
