makes all of us believe that they are going to win, and when they get
caught, it's a total surprise. Just like when Phil said Lance was going
to win in the prologue, but we were PLEASANTLY surprised that he lost by
2 seconds, since we were so immersed in Phil's excellent commentary and
really believed Lance was going to win.

I listened to the OLT web audio and it was nothing but crowd noise for
the last 30 km, then some french voice comes on, mentioning Kirsipuu.

You sound like an old hen. Be thankful we have any coverage at all in the
states. Lets face it, in the states not many people even know what a
bicycle is and if it doesn't have a NASCAR sticker on it, most people here
just don't understand. Thank goodness for OLN. At least we can see the
race.

Right! I liked VeloNews a lot better when it was only 16 pages and
printed in newspaper format, the articles were much better. And the
ABC Wide World of Sports coverage althought not long was excellent.

Phil Liggett is getting older and is not as sharp as he used to be but still
pretty dam good. I don't know what his IQ is but if you were to sit down
with him in a one on one discussion, he would blow your doors off. I would
hate to think where cycling would be today without Phil Liggett.

Don't brag about your long experince following the sport. Being charged as a
minor (for stupidity and lack of perspective) was your only shot at getting
off lightly with your unreasonable comments.

Phil is the all time best English speaking commentator in cycling (since the
reformation anyway). Maybe your expectations are too high (or too something)
from watching your other favorite sports that you indicated? Commentating is
like cycling in that it looks easy when you are observing from the
sidelines.

I never saw the Cutters at Reagan's funeral. Were they running along side
the funeral procession?

Try it some time and you will know what a lousy commentator sounds like!

France Television has been using the OLN footage of Lance preparing
for the Tour de France in its daily coverage of the Tour. On the
other hand, I've been using the Eurosport audio to replace the
France Television audio coverage.

I confess, the coverage today was very good, I think they just sold
too many commercials Sundays, and I was startled about Phil Liggett's
speculation about a two minute breakaway.
