  1. I tried to look this up on the web and couldn't find the answer. If Ullrich
gets second place again this year, is that the most second place finishes by
    a Tour rider?
    Thanks,
    Tom

Raymond Poulidor has 3 2nd-place finishes and 5 3rd-place finishes. Not
only did he never win the Tour, but he never even got the chance to wear the
    maillot jaune for a day.

Joop Zoetemelk has 6 2nd-place finishes to go with his solitary win. Joop
also has several other minor placings, however, whereas Ullrich has NEVER
    finished lower than 2nd-place.

But Joop also has 16 Tour starts *and* finishes. And a great-nephew that
has been called today's greatest cycling talent.

  5. Thanks, Steven
