  4. In defense of John Eustice, he is a nice guy and has done a tremendous job
promoting cycling in the Philly area and on the East coast. I know I could not
sit in front of a microphone and narrate race coverage.

He is more than a little hyperactive. I like that he can get
down to the finish line and interview the winner in his native
language and translate it back into English live on camera,
though. Not easy (even after the rbr two weeks' fluency program).

Funny thought: imagine the average US baseball/football/basketball
sideline TV announcer trying to do live translation while talking
    to players.

You know, I watched that last night and I am not exactly sure that he just
didn't say what sounded good and not a REAL translation of what Ventuoso
said. If you remember, Tim Johnson came up right then and Eustice said, "
here's Tim Johnson, maybe he can help with translating what his teamate is
saying". I mean if he did live translation that great, it really didn't look
like it to me. Just keep him out of the play by play. He also was constantly
interupting Phil and cutting him short

That's a good point, Eustice translated his own question for
the viewers, but that's not so hard since he knew what he said.
Ventoso started slow and then was talking really fast, I had no
hope of following (and my Spanish is really bad), so don't know
what he did say. Figured he wanted to talk to Tim Johnson for
the homer crowd and so as not to spend more time translating.

  9. The reason for that is because he thinks that he should be doing the
play by play not Phil, his ego is huge.

    He also was constantly
