alleged to be false. It's quite difficult to plead that as to a book neither
he nor his solicitors have yet read. If Walsh et al. have affidavits from
the partys quoted attesting to the truthfulness of what they have stated,
and/or other corroborating evidence to support the truth of what was
written, there will probably be no injunction. Rather,there may eventually
be a trial on the merits.

In addition to being subject to questioning under oath, Armstrong, his
entourage and his treating physicians to whom he may have made admissions
against interest will likely be called to trial to give testimony. This is
going to be great fun. I have the impression from the Times article over the
weekend, that their solicitors have been preparing for this Armstrong salvo

The difference between prostitutes and solicitors is that the prostitute
will stop screwing you when you're dead.

He can plead "in words, or in substance." The factual allegation -- that LA
doped -- was clearly made no matter what the wording. That being said, any
publisher will have such an allegation thoroughly vetted and corroborated
before publication.

This is going to get REALLY good!

The libel laws in England are tilted towards Lance. He has a much lower
threshold to prove than in the US. That being said, the Times must have a
solid case or the would not expose themselves.
