I thought surely you hadn't checked out the start lists, but he is
indeed short listed! We'll see, I still think he may opt out if he can. -

that to cap his fairytale-like career. -

but panicked and went way too early... and way too bad for poor Johan.
What a disasterous time to flat.--

What a disasterous time to flat. Finally there is justice in this world!!
Remember 1996 when SuperWanker Squinzi ordered his DS to tell his lads to leave Ballerini who should have been a protected rider?
Poor Freakin' Ballerini. He'd flatted three times in the closing clicks and still almost clawed himself back into contention.
And then the same SuperWanker further dictated the finishing order when he was guaranteed a 1..2..3 finish?
Poor Bortolami and Tafi were in tears..

You'll need to remind me of this candyass rule, as it was apparently
before my time.Ugh. There are two ways to view the candyass rule: as a strict law, and as
the
interpretation of the law and what it was attempting to address--sort of
like the
Torah and the Talmud, or the Constitution and the intent of the original
framers. The operational rule was: make one pick.
The behavior that prompted the rule was making multiple guesses in
a shotgun fashion, and then claiming credit when any one of the choices
won. That's candyass.I don't particularly hold to the "make only one pick" rule. I do think,
however,
that if one makes eleven picks then demanding that we now bow to your
prediction
prowess is a tad unseemly, especially since Backstedt wasn't even one of
them. -

wasn't even one of them.the bow to me comment was tongue in cheek, obviously. There were two
other names I had thought about putting on there, one was Flecha, the
other was Big Magnus, just because he did well at Gent, but he usually
comes in from larger groups like the Gent race, rather than making the
small selections that happen at P-R, so I totally discounted him.
Mostly, I was going by who is kind of cute - does that make me candyass? Now that I know it, I'll abide by the candyass rule, promise.

Though candyass, you get some points for picking Cancellara for 3rd.
That was less than obvious. If he had actually finished 3rd rather
than 4th I'd start to worry.
Don't forget Van Bon's 7th ;-)Jeff
