  1. A friend took a really bad spill on his Bianchi cross bike (aluminum
frame, I think, not sure of the fork material) while doing the local
cancer cure ride a week or two ago. He says his bike *looks* all
    right, but we were wondering:
    1. After a serious spill, how does one tell if the integrity of the
the frame and fork have been compromised, besides looking for obvious
    signs like cracks?
    2. What, ultimately, is the best, safest method to determine if the
frame and fork are still all right to ride on?
    Thanks. --Roy Zipris

If there are no cracks or dents I don't worry about it.

Most frame failures will just be drag -- you might not be able to ride
home. But a crash caused by one would be very rare. A fork breaking
is another matter -- much more dangerous.
