Campy Ergopower problem.

My left one does that too, and it's c. 2000, and didn't do that at the
beginning. When I overhauled my shifters I was hoping it would correct
itself, but didn't. Then I noticed a small hairline crack in the shifter
housing, probably from a crash. The outward rocking motion used to shift
that shift lever opens the crack. I'm wondering if that's what's going on
with mine. I find too that it is necessary to swing the lever just a bit
farther to get the shift.

If this is an older set of ergos (pointy headed ones), it may have a
roll pin set where the shift blade meets the lever body. This is a
wearing surface and occasionally needs to be tapped a little further
in to optimize the shift blade position. Otherwise one of those
little round rubber bumpers with adhesive (available at your friendly
local hardware store) may be placed on the inside of the body in the
spot where the shift blade hits to shim it out. Try it before you
remove the paper over the adhesive and trim with a knife to the size
and thickness necessary to maximize the aesthetics of the blade
position.

This is easy to fix, have at it!

Shifting is otherwise normal, but when I use my brake, it makes a
cliking sound since the gear lever is out of line with the small
rubber pad placed on the back of the brake lever.
What could be wrong???

some 5-6mm longer out, than the one on the
right.
