  1. I don;t follow Coronation Street,
but was just flicking idly between channels.
Am I imagining things, or were Jack and Vera Duckworth arguing
about Jack having to do a 200 mile bike ride?

Is Corrie being topical with Bike Week?

No, it's Vera worrying about his heart. The bike in question is an
exercise bike so the trip will be virtual. In one scene they were outside
and someone did push a bike past so maybe there is a hint of Bike Week.

God! What could be more tedious than a '200 mile' 'trip' on an exercise
    bike?

The Essex teacher who is exercise biking a virtual round the world trip? He
has some real excitement like virtually missing a Turkish earthquake by a
    week.

Doing 200 milles on an exercise bike without a good book on the
handlebars or the telly switched on in front of you.
