I would be interested to hear your opinion about this.

Many believe that riding a bicycle brings them Very Bad Luck. A
substantial minority of cyclists attempt to ward off this Bad Luck by the
wearing of Lucky Magic Hats. It is my opinion that it wards off some Bad
Luck, but is inneffective at warding off Very Bad Luck.

I attempt to ward off Very Bad Luck by using Lucky Looks Over The Shoulder
and Lucky Hand Signals before doing relatively risky things like changing
lanes or making turns. This seems to ward off both Bad and Very Bad Luck.

People are more superstitious about activities where success or survival
depend on luck, than where it's just a matter of effort or planning or
preventive maintenance or traffic sense.

So experienced cyclists are a bit superstitious but not as superstitious
as hedgehogs.
