We had a knock on the door from Le Plod last night as our car was one
in the area which matched the vague description given by witnesses to
this:
Drivers in East Grinstead are being questioned by police about a
hit-and-run in which a cyclist was badly hurt.
The 65-year-old cyclist suffered head injuries after being hit by a
people carrier which failed to stop.
Police said the vehicle would have been damaged in the collision on
Tuesday on the B2110 Turner's Hill Road.
Officers returned to the scene near Brooklands Way on Wednesday to
carry out house-to-house inquires and to question motorists about the
crash.
The victim, from East Grinstead, was taken to East Surrey Hospital
after the collision at 1450 BST.
Sgt Larry Culver, from Haywards Heath police, said: "As the victim is
in a critical condition we are very keen to speak to anyone who
witnessed the incident or who can identify the vehicle."
Anyone with information should contact Sussex Police.
