  1. Went out for a ride on Tuesday, got as far as the railway crossing near
Gilberdyke and found I was getting slow even for me. First thought was
that the brakes were binding again, but it was a visit from the dreaded
    P*nct*re Fairy. Drat!

So out comes the spare tube and I set to work. Being a feeble creature
of very little manual dexterity it took me a while, but eventually I got
the new tube in, the tyre back on and set off again. At least it was one
of the front wheels, so I didn't have to take the wheel off. I was quite
pleased with myself, as getting the tyre back on is something I always
    find difficult.

On Wednesday I needed to go to the Post Office so off I trot to fetch my
trike, whereupon I find the tyre is flat again. Double Drat!

Closer inspection shows that the new tube is shredded, the tyre is
damaged and - worst of all- the rim is bent. Very Rude Words were said.

Trike is now in the living room in the process of having a rim
transplant and looking very sorry for herself.

I looked at the cycle parking at The Deep the other day, since you
mentioned that you were unsure whether there was any. If you face the
entrance there are lots of Sheffield stands all along the river's edge to
    the door's left.

You might even be able to bike there direct from Gilberdyke if you can find
a link to Broomfleet, mind you, I wouldn't fancy carrying your trike over
those rocks when it gets fixed.

Oh good. We arrived on foot, so I wasn't really looking for the cycle
parking, but it wasn't immediately obvious (or possibly I'm just dozy
    :-))

Um - Broomfleet's closer to Hull than Gilberdyke is anyway....

Thanks, but it looks like a mountain bike route to me :-) Definitely not
for those of us of a tricycle inclination.

I usually get the train if I need to go into Hull. The times aren't
always convenient, but I'm too slow to play on the A63 and too lazy to
ride there over the hills :-)
