So that's Sunday next weekend (not 'this weekend' coming).
Basically a charity ride around Lake Macquarie (NSW)
organised by the rotary club.
The whole loop is 85km, starting at Spears Point Park
(very north point of the lake). I don't remember the
exact costs, and don't have a sheet in front of me.
From memory it was about $25 previously.
Last year there was 1900 riders, Larissa & I rode it on
the tandem. It's a fairly hilly ride - well no huge
grinders, but very little flat.
You can also start from 1/2way at Morisset for a 50km trip.
The best bit is stopping at traffic lights: I love the
sound of hundreds of pairs of clipless pedals 🙂
It spreads out a bit after the first few hills.
Speaking of hills, the hill down into Swansea is fantastic -
high & long and a perfect hotmix surface. We ran out of
gears going down on the tandem, not sure how fast that
was, I managed to put the front wheel on backwards, so the
magnet was on the wrong side 🙁
Anyway, I'll be there, I'll wear my (blue) Eurobike jersey,
and shabby helmet. Say 'ello if you see me.
