  1. If there are any cyclists from Queanbeyan and Jerrabomberra reading the
newsgroup, I would like to inform them that I've joined the Queanbeyan City
Council's Bike Path Consultative Committee as a community representative.
If you have any suggestions or concerns regarding facilities for cyclists,
please let me know by email (removing the 'obvious'😉 and I will raise them
    for discussion at upcoming meetings.

The Council is currently planning to extend the existing bike path from
Karabar High School to the Southbar Rd/North Terrace intersection, through
to Jerrabomberra beside Lanyon Drive and the lawn cemetery and then along
Kinlyside Avenue and Esmond Ave to the Jerrabomberra Village shopping
centre. This path should help Jerra residents that cycle through West
Queanbeyan into Canberra rather than using Lanyon Drive and the Monaro
Highway. I will find out the timetable for this work at the next meeting in
    March.

    Craig
