Ride out to Monash Uni lock the bike up, work all day starring at tiny little shells through a magnifying glass, come out looking forward to the ride home only to find some buggers stolen my rear LED light.
I've been locking the bike on Smith or Brunswick streets every weekend for a year without any one nicking my light but one day at Monash Uni...
On the up side I touched 70k's on the hill down Stephensons Road on the way in 🙂

----------------------------------------------------------------------- Remove anything that is easily removeable from your bike after locking it. Leaving it on the bike is not worth the irritation if it is stolen.
Also remember to lock the stable door after the horse has bolted :-)

Greetings, That's nothing, when I was at uni ( admittedly some time ago now) some ratbag stole my saddle and cut the gear cables. Try riding like that. Some mean people out there. Cheers, Ray.

Thats disappointing really... I also used to ride to Monash as well and at the time it didnt even occur to me that parts might get stolen, let alone the bike. Fortunately I had enough sense to lock it but never bothered with the QR wheels, seat etc.
Interesting to know if they've thought of installing those bike lockers like at train stations. All comes back to money I guess...
