Well I took it out for a spin yesterday...wow...what a difference. You know prior to me buying a "real" bike (non department store) I always thought spending a lot of money on a bike wasn't worth it...I had the "it's not like it can be THAT much different". Of course once on the Trek 1000, it was a different type of bike altogether and now on the TCR....quite a difference from the 1000! I can definitely see what the community was saying about the gears, going from Sora to Ultegra....it almost felt too sensitive when I went to change gears. As Lokstah put it in a thread somewhere...definitely more "refined".
Thanks all for your advice and help!

Hey, congrats; the alloy TCR is a nice frame. Racy, snappy, stiff, and light, not too expensive; mean-looking to boot. Not the least chattery frame around (there are frames which offer less vertical bounce and bump), but all in all, a slick training/racing roadster.
Have fun out there!
