Need Help!!!

If your crotch hits the top tube (when you stand with your feet firmly on the ground), don't get it.

Take the bike, and then look for a swap at a local bike shop.

If you can not stand flat footed (in your bike shoes) over the top tube, don't ride it!

No sense in ruining your knees! Sell the hummer and get a bike that fits.

Aw- the heck with it...just don't crash, right?

Just guessing you probably need a 53- 54 if that gives you a reference point. even if you get the seat all the way forward the stem is probably set up for a person 6" or more with a long reach. The bars are probably wide also It would stretch you way too far to ever be comfortable.If you are not comfortable and in pain you won't ride much. Counter-productive.

You might want to check-out the Rivendell web site. Take a look at what they have to say about bike fit. Their whole philosophy is based on the fact that pretty much everyone are riding bikes that are too small. That 60cm Cannondale might just fit you perfectly by Rivendell standards. Maybe you could try to emulate their fitting methods. Plus thay make some really cool "retro" style lugged steel frames.
