I pull a trailer, because I don't want to drive a vehicle. I haul 2 to 3
water bottles to work, because we have a water club and I supply the water.
I carry the empties to local water store and then fill all 4 and haul them
home. I pull the trailer to haul groceries, compost, recycling and anything
else I can. Last grocery trip was 75kms (~45 miles) carrying 214 lbs; The
trailer had 120 lbs and 89 lbs in the panniers (4 of them). I like to ride
to local produce producers, (I just love buying directly from the source
(cut out the big companies)); Buy what I can from them and then go to the
others (safeway, superstore, thrifties...) .
The bottom line is that I ride my recumbent for the following reasons:
- to save money on fuel (98.5 cents / litre here wich equals $4.47 per imp
gal)
- for the environment
- for fun (liesure rides)
- for exicerise
- for competion, (sometimes I like to race roadies)
- for companionship (meet other people and chat)
- for work, (haul compost, water, groceries, dirt, misc items)
- for commuting to work
The order of reasons I ride changesfrom ride to ride, hour by hour; Living
on Vancouver island allows me to use my bike as a motorized vehicle
replacement, and best of all, I can ride year around, and I do.
Because the V-Rex is such a strong bike, I think I will keep it as the work
horse, and I think I will buy something fast to romp around with; Something
to race roadies with ;-) I don't know if it's worth buying the Ti Shock
Proof though. I like the new Ti - SP 571, (26 inch wheels front and back).

I really don't get the idea of dragging around a trailer full of weight

trailer to add weight really makes no sense. Going faster is just as good
exercise.
M5 may recommend a dealer in Canada.

I currently have a Rans V-Rex and I find the ride rough as the roads are
bad. Seemed to be worse this year, and I am getting older. I use my
