Bike Florida

Fine write up. At least I wasn't stuffing my face.

Southern Women (and tattaos), a young lady rode one of my first BFs. She
had a rose tattaoed on her right hip. When she bent to her efforts -
pedaling - the rose would peek over her shorts. I worked hard to keep that
rose in view.

Hey, I admit it - it's some form of prejudice from my younger days. I
*know* that men with southern accents aren't all Gomer Pyles, but after
decades of movies and television, not to mention relatives and
neighbors, I've grown up, like Pavlov's dogs, with habits and
preconceptions that are hard to conquer. But, at least I know they're
not 'real' or factual.
Heck, one of my best friends is from Norcross, GA, and is
exceptionally bright - but he sounds like Barney Fife! See, I can
recognize what my prejudices are telling me, but I don't have to believe
them!

It's ok Larry. We understand. There are all sorts of preconceptions and
prejudices around. For example, I've never met a southern boy who thought
growing up to look like Santa Claus would be a cool thing to do. I'm not
sure how southern women feel about Santa types, especially those with
"haggle" tattooed over their heart. But anyway we all know these things
are just preconceptions and not in any way indicative of a person's true
worth. ;-).

One thing is for sure, we can none of us see ourselves as others see us. I
think if I looked like Santa Claus (Varney) I would not be casting many
aspersions about.

Now as for myself, I am the very picture of perfection. Yet others on this
newsgroup do not find me so. Denis Rivest finds me to be arrogant and
insolent. I wonder where he ever got that idea? Just because I am perfect
doesn't mean that I begrudge anyone else their many gross imperfections. I
mean, after all, I do suffer fools like Denis here on this newsgroup all the
time. It is part of my noblesse oblige. 😉

Well, it is a slow Sunday here in Minnesota and I do not have anything
better to do than to remind everyone how extremely intelligent I am and that
it is always a great honor and privilege to engage me in discussion (even if
we end up doing nothing better than calling one another nasty names). It is
part of my perfection to admit to being wrong on occasion. Everyone always
appreciates a little modesty every now and then although it ill becomes me.
However, I would never be so arrogant as to apologize to the entire country
on the part of the Bush administration for not foreseeing 9/11 like Clarke
did. Now that is real arrogance which is even beyond me!

Bottom posting is always good form and is the preference of us intelligent
types as well as being totally correct and proper. I am glad to see that I
am having some good effect here on ARBR.
