Out of curiousity I had a look to see what test groups my server carried.
There are 3: microsoft.public.windowsce.testtools, netscape.test.moderated,
and opera.internal.test. I can see why we get test messages here. It's a
sad day when news servers don't carry test groups.

Hmmm. I just checked Roadrunner, and looks like there are thousands of 'em.

Still, if I'm having server issues for whatever reason, I'm more interested
in knowing if my post will show up on AM-B than on some obscure test group
(to which I would have to subscribe, anyway).

Computers and newsreaders are a lot more challenging for some of us,
apparently. Same goes for simple newsgroup etiquette.

Considering that usenet has over a terrabyte a day uploaded to it, I
don't think the few extra lines I sometimes use to make a point is
going to bother much. The only ones who will complain are those that
are still in the stone age, and reading offline after downloading
messages with their ancient phone modems.

My only point is that, if you feel /compelled/ to admonish a test poster,
you could do so without listing hundreds of group names. (Sorta like those
who leave pages and pages of Vandedrivel just to say "go away" or something
likewise succinct.)
