  1. So . . please flame me for being superficial, but why o why does the Expert
have to be the only Stumpjumper that comes in (only) red ?!

It's incidentally exactly the bike I want . . . of course all the others
have sharp silver and "dream" finishes that I'd love . It seems to me that
if you're willing to drop what a SJ costs, you shouldn't have to get it in
    your least favorite color.

    grrr.

Red is a feminine color anyway. Belongs on lips, finger nails and lingerie.

Yay. My first love/hate relationship with a bike company. Unfortunately, I'm
just too weak to break it off. The fringe benefits are just way too good to
    pass up . .

    Well, you sound pretty knowledgeable.

We never really know in this town, now do we?

Besides, this is the only tranny that concerns me

If it were my $ I'ld drop the extra coin and get the Elite, the black
one. Much better component specs at a very reasonable cost.

That stuff is vastly over-rated. I prefer to remove it where possible.

Horrible stuff. Bright red underwear just looks cheap and nasty.
