Upgrading an old fork (sorta)

This really depends on which Judy you're being offered. IIRC, some of the
older ones were produced with threaded steerer tubes, so you might be
lucky and can do a straight swap out. If not, refer to

Cantis and Vs use the same mounts, so provided the Judy has a hanger, you
can just leave the cantis on there. And to answer your actual question,
the old brake lever shouldn't be used with Vs - they use different pull
ratios so it will be [censored].

currently have a quill-type stem installed.

Second: The old fork has cantalever brake mounts, while the Judy uses v-
brakes. I can bum an old v-brake off one of my buddies, so that's not a
problem, but can I use the old brake lever? The brake levers on the bike
are integrated with the shifters, so I'd rather not replace them.

Dunno, actually. Is that something I can check without removing the fork
(i.e., by measuring the inside diameter of the head tube or the diameter
of the stem quill)?
