Tire Pressure

easier the bik was to pedal. Now I run 35-40...and I weigh about 220#.

For low pressures, I hear that thread count matters. Higher thread count tires
supposedly roll easier. I think my MTB Mutano Raptors are something like 130
tpi.

May I just say, damn straight!

All those high pressure running weenies think I'm faster than they are,
it's my 28psi tires that's kicking their asses 🙂

It all depends on the terrain. If it's rough, there's no reason to run high
pressure except for pinch resistance. If it's a smooth fireroad or
rails-to-trails type thing then, believe me, the higher the pressure, the
faster you go, just like on the road.

Yep, it's one reason why I like running one brand of tire for so long. With
a Motoraptor 2.4 on the front I now know I can run 32.231 psi, under that
and I have a 3.54% chance of pinch flatting. With a Velociraptor 2.1 rear I
know I can run 48.621 psi and have less than a 5.82% chance of pinch
flatting. You should see the charts I've kept. They cover the walls of my
garage even though they're in an 8 pt font.

Hard tires (high pressure) pedal easier, softer have some shock absorbance.
You decide- life is compromise!
